Police Officer

I study in the Police Technology program at the Ahuntsic College to become a police officer in the province of Quebec. In this three years of training, we learn everything about the police officer job and how to do it. For example, we are studying the Criminal Code, Civil Code, Highway Safety Code and we are doing simulations of interventions that will happen to us later to know what we need to do to help the citizens. We are also learning how to do some physical technique to immobilize and arrest criminals. The formation gives us what we need to be the best police officer. The aim of police in Quebec is to protect life and public safety and to ensure the protection of private property and we are learning how to do it. I have chosen this website below because it summarizes not only a day in the life of a police officer but also their career in general. I will summarize this website and make some links with the police in Quebec.

The website says that the police form comes in many ways such as sheriffs, detectives, state troopers and police officer. It's really relevant of the police worldwide because in a police station, there are different grades that a police officer can have. It's also true in Quebec, where you can find a commander, some sergeants, lieutenants, captains and many more. The website also says that the main goal of the police officers is to keep the public order and to protect citizens life and their property. It's the same goal as the police in Quebec. My chosen website also relates the stress that a police officer may have because of the pressure on him. He has to maintain the law, ensure the thrust of the citizens in the police, arrest criminal and to be the protection between a citizen and a dangerous situation. All of this is the same pressure that lives every police officer in Quebec. Finally, the website says the prerequisites to be a police officer: be in a great physical form, graduate from a police academy and pass the psychological and the physical tests. These prerequisites are the same to be a police officer in Quebec, except that in Quebec every police officer must go through Nicolet (Quebec's police academy) to become a policer officer.
